    the story

Because our goal is to promote sustainable forestry verified by outside inspectors, we sell decking that is certified through the Forest Stewardship Council. FSC is the non-profit group that has taken the worldwide lead in promoting wise management of commercial timberland. By purchasing tropical decking that is FSC-certified you are actually supporting keeping tropical forests in tact. FSC-certified forests keep the land from being converted to farm land for soybean or other non-native cash crops.

Prepare wood with appropriate Biowash cleaning/stripping product (if deck needs to be refinished or is dirty). Apply with mop, sponge, brush, roller or garden sprayer. Wait 5-15 minutes and agitate with a scrub brush and rinse thoroughly with water. After applying Stain Prep, wait at least 2 hrs (or until wood is dry to the touch) before applying Natural Deck Oil (NDO). Apply NDO within 12 hrs of applying Stain Prep. Apply NDO (see NDO Quick Sheet). Rinse well with clean water before proceeding to the finish. Apply on cool surface; surface temp should be 40-100°F. Do not apply on hot days at midday. Do not apply when raining or when rain is in the immediate forecast (within 24 hrs of application). Due to the dense grain on our Tigerwood decking, the wood can often be dry to the touch within 15-30 minutes of application. This means that wait times between applications of stain prep and Natural Deck Oil may be reduced to 15-30 minutes.
